Educational Experiences and Awards
The Green Lake County 4-H Leaders’ Association is proud to support our 4-H members to attend state and national Educational Experiences. These experiences are great opportunities to build leadership skills, make lasting friendships, and travel across the state and nation. If funding is a concern for attending a 4-H Program, please reach out to the Extension Office for support.
Leaders’ Ed. Experiences Scholarship and Key Award
The Green Lake County 4-H Leaders’ Association finds great value in our educational experiences and want to support you to attend with a 25% scholarship to attend. Receiving a county scholarship does not guarantee a spot on the experience and they are encouraged to apply as soon as they are able. The Key Award is the highest honor a 4-H member can receive. Youth who show dedication, growth, and leadership skills throughout their career in 4-H. Youth selected will also have the opportunity to apply for a Wisconsin 4-H Key Award recognition and to highlighted as a State Top 10 awards winner.

Space Camp
Experience life as an astronaut! This STEM focused experience takes you to the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL for simulated space missions, building model rockets, what it takes to work at NASA and more!
Grades: 6-8th

American Spirit
Travel the East Coast while learning about heritage and history! This 10-day bus journey is a unique experience to diverse cultural and historical sites foundational to our nation. (The Maumee, Ohio stop is now Nappanee, Indiana AND the Niagra Falls stop now enters Canada – passports are required!)
Grades: 8-10th at time of registration

Ignite by 4-H (w/ CWF*)
Head to Washington DC on the Ignite conference. Ignite your spark and build career and life skills that to be Beyond Ready for future. From AgriScience to Healthy Living to STEM tracks, there is something for everyone!
Age: 13-19 (High-school aged)
*Citizen Washington Focus or CWF is no longer being offered as its own program and is now a track on Ignite by 4-H.

Summer Academy
Summer Academy is Wisconsin 4-H’s track-based conference. Explore life on UW-Madison Campus, explore career and hobby pathways, and meet other 4-H’ers from across WI.
Grades: 8-11th

National 4-H Conference
National 4-H Conference brings youth and adults from across the nation to strengthen and expand 4-H at the local, state, and national levels. This conference leads to recommendations going directly to the Secretary of Agriculture, National Extension Program leaders, and others who impact 4-H programs across the nation.
Grades: 10-12th, Minimum age 15, Maximum age 18 as of January 1 year of travel

Key Award
The Key Award is the highest honor awarded to 4-H members. The youth who receive the have shown growth and strong involvement in the 4-H program whether it’s at the local, state, and/or national level.
Applicants must be in grades 10-13th and must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Green Lake County 4-H.
New this year! Youth who are selected will have the opportunity to apply to be selected as a State Top 10 Key Award Recipient.
Other Educational Experiences
The Green Lake County 4-H Leaders’ Association will provide reimbursement for up to $50 of the registration fee for any 4-H event* or program not part of the Educational Experiences/ Key Award application. These are awesome opportunities for you to explore different sparks, gain leadership skills, and participate in 4-H beyond Green Lake County!

Fall Forum
Fall Forum is back in Green Lake! Meet other 4-H’ers from across Wisconsin while you attend different sessions to learn different leadership skills. This is open to youth and adult volunteers to learn things from promoting 4-H to counselor tips and tricks to running effective club meetings. This is also our Wisconsin 4-H Leadership Council’s (WLC) premier program and the chance to run for WLC yourself – reach out to the Extension Office if you’re interested in running for WLC!
Grades: 7th+ (Including Volunteers!)

Art Beat
Arts Beat is a chance to explore your creative side through different sessions including music, theater, photography, visual arts, and more. This is a great introduction to camp and overnight experiences for a weekend of art learning at Upham Woods.
Grades: 3-5th!

Art Camp
Arts Camp is a more advanced Art Beat for our older youth. Experience similar creative learning to Art Camp, but a step up for our older youth. Check out this arts weekend also at Upham Woods!
Grades: 6-8th!
*Five County 4-H is supported by the Green Lake County 4-H Leaders’ Association and does not require applying for aid. Thank you so much for your continued support!
State Scholarships
We understand that even with the support of the Green Lake County 4-H Leaders’ Association, cost can still be a barrier to attend educational experiences. Wisconsin 4-H does offer state scholarships for youth through the application process for Educational Experiences.
